After holidays, sickness and other interruptions to my writing, I opened my Life-Changing Waters manuscript I haven’t worked on since November. My Psalm 219 pretty much sums up where I am at the moment, annoyed at the things which have kept me from my writing passion, annoyed that my computer is not responding the way I’d like it to, annoyed that it has taken me twenty minutes to restore the settings I thought were in place, and annoyed that I probably…..
I know, I know. I’m six days late. The holidays took their toll on us. The family has been sick. It’s humbling to discover yet again that I am a mere mortal, and that tiny viruses can cause such misery. It started as a mere cold. Usually I knock those off in 3 days with Airborne and a little rest and TLC. This one, no way. Two doctor visits, more meds than I can count, at least ten full boxes…..
THEME 6: OBEDIENCE EVEN WHEN IT’S HARD
SCRIPTURE [1]:
Then the Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your relatives and your father’s family. Go to the land I will show you. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make you famous. And you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you. I will place a curse on those who harm you. And all the…..
From my book, Advent Adventure, celebrate with me the first Sunday in Advent.
THE ADVENT WREATH
The four Sundays before Christmas are times of celebration with the Advent Wreath ceremony. If Christmas falls on the weekend, this can be the fifth Sunday. Each year’s dates will be different. The Christ Candle is lit on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, or both, symbolic of the presence of Jesus, the Light of the World.
As previously mentioned, he colors of advent are…..
Throughout the month of November I have posted daily entries on Facebook and some on this site from my book, Thanksliving: Attitude of Gratitude. Today I write my Psalm of Thanksgiving to God for His blessings since writing that book in 2016.
Heavenly Father, Creator of the Universe, Lover of my soul,
I praise You for all that is good in my life
And for the difficulties I face, for they teach me perseverance, character, and patience.
I praise You for…..
Day 19 I express my attitude of gratitude that I can read and write, that I can expand my world through vicariously reading about others who have lived life. I can study the Scriptures. What a privilege. I think of girls in the world who are forbidden education. What a pity. Those who never think about the loss of these cannot possibly understand my attitude of gratitude. It is immense. I am indebted to the teachers, mentors, counselors, family members,…..
Day 14
All circumstances are opportunities for Him to shine and me to fade. I’m learning. Long ago this was an attitude in my head knowledge of God’s grace, but more recently it has become obvious that my heart, my soul, my very being has been miraculously transformed by this knowledge.
I have developed a precept the last ten years. It is summarized in a quote I’ve created to live my life by, just because I’ve learned that prioritizing is…..

“Yay! Hooray! It’s Concert Day!” is a children’s book from my grandchildren’s point of view. Five-year-old Kaley and her little sister, three-year-old Emily attend concerts with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra in Brevard County, Florida. Their parents, violinist Paul and oboist Mary and their cellist Aunt Nancy are members of the Symphony. This book tells about people and instruments of the orchestra, their reactions to music, their own music studies, and their…..
Day 4
The world calls unexplainable situations various names: circumstance or chance, coincidence or accident, serendipity or freak of nature, luck or magic. Culture has its explanations. How many times have we heard:
“It is what it is,” “That’s the way the cookie crumbles,” or “That’s life.”?
I, on the other hand, live in the sure knowledge that God is in charge of my every experience; therefore, I know by those experiences that He designs them for my good…..
