Lenten Prayer “My Psalm 306” February 19, 2018 In honor of Emily Pippin Abba, Father,God of creation, Lover of our souls, You have known us eternally And formed us according to Your purpose To live in this time and place. Your Psalm 139 tells us That even as we were being formed in the womb You knew the time of our death. Your infinite plan for us even numbers our hairs. Why then, does mankind long to do as…..
Lenten “My Psalm 305” February 18, 2018
With rejoicing we come, Dear Lord,
To Your sabbath, a day set aside to worship
And to rest in Your Presence.
For at Your creation of the world
You accomplished magnificence and order,
And pronounced it good
And rested on the seventh day.
We honor and bless Your Holy Name.
As Your people come together to worship,
Let us put aside all that would distracr or detract,
Let us confess our sin,…..
Lenten “My Psalm 304” February 16Almighty Father, You who created me, You know me all too well. When I am discouraged, Bound by emotions which drain my energy And sap my strength, I pray deliverance.
When life’s struggles become burdensome, When I see the dark skies and feel overwhelmed, When death and disasters are clouds on my mind And the pain of sin overtakes my soul, I pray deliverance.
When I read in Psalms that David felt depression, I find…..
My Psalm 303 Lenten Series February 16, 2018
Almighty Father, Creator of all things,
We call upon Your Name in supplication,
For we so need Your Presence this day.
Your word tells us that the death of Your saints
Is precious in Your sight, and we grieve this day.
We know You loved us enough to sacrifice Your Son
Jesus Christ for us, atonement for our sinful nature.
He willingly left the heavenly realms
Where He counseled in Your Presence,
…..
My Psalm 301 February 15, 2018
Heavenly Father, Creator of all things, Abba, Father, Praised be Your Name in the heavens and on earth, For You have heard my cry; I can feel Your Presence Because Jesus brings me to Your loving arms When I cry out to You for strength this hour.
My heart is heavy with grief Because Your children have strayed so far From Eden’s perfection. Senseless killing of students in a school Brings me to tears……

My Psalm 208
Heavenly Father, Lover of my soul,
Thank You for showing me the pathway to salvation,
By bringing me face to face
With my need to come to You, Lord of the Universe,
Confessing my need for You,
Showing me in baby steps and giant leaps
That only in You is to be found the answers to questions
I didn’t even know to ask.
Thank You for sending Jesus to call for me
When in childlike…..
When we count on our own strength, we throw pity parties. This section of “Life-Changing Water” reveals the foolishness of our self-sufficiency, for we are lacking the life-giving water, and thirst in agony until we find our rest in our Sovereign Lord. This is a difficult part of the book, dealing with annoyance, impatience, broken relationships, hurting families, physical insufficiency, aging, and yes, mortality. These are the deserts, far from the life-giving abundance of the blessings of water. Can you…..
From my new book, “Life-Changing Water,” an original psalm “Trials–God Teaches through Tempests and Storms.”
My Psalm 210
Dear Heavenly Father, Creator,, yet Abba, Father,
Your rich blessings fall on me
Like the thunderous showers of yesterday!
You drench me with Your love,
You saturate me with Your Presence
Whenever I call on Your Blessed Name.
From the desert of nonchalance,
You raise me to remembrance
Of noticing the big things, the little things,
And treating both with Thanksgiving.
…..
from my newest book, Life-Changing Water soon to be published, this is a psalm of loneliness. In this section of the book, I deal with the lack of water, needing God. We cannot live without water; the Christian cannot live without close relationship with the Savior.
My Psalm 216
Almighty Father, Provider of all good things,
We praise Your Name and worship at Your throne.
You give us all we need in this life,
And that plentifully.
You grant us…..
Last evening several friends, wives of the elders and deacons of our church, met to pray for our husbands and for the heavy responsibilities they’ve undertaken in leading Covenant Church. It is always a time of rich fellowship at the feet of Jesus, the Source of our strength and the Savior Who leads His people. When we pray, we ask for His guidance, for His will to be done in our lives. We ask for, and receive, assurance of His…..
