Oh, how our country needs this message from the book of James in the Bible. I am heartened by the unselfish attitudes of helpers and caregivers and first responders along the Gulf Coast. Would that we would exhibit this care for each other on a daily basis. But it seems the media encourages bitterness, opposition, innuendo, adverse criticism to the point of showing ignorance to encourage strife. Stiletto heels? Really? Can we take a minute to look at this LOVELY…..
As part of the world, in its fallen state, we justifiably feel anxious from time to time. Whether it is facing an impending weather event like a Florida hurricane, or a medical procedure or diagnosis, or financial woes, we could just wring our hands, ask, “Why? God?” or complain about our lot in life. Most people would understand those responses as normal.
However, for the believer, sanctified in the faith, mature in the knowledge and experience of God’s sovereignty, we…..
As part of my newest book, Life-Changing Waters, a Devotional Guide, this entry concerns the deserts of life, when God seems distant because we sometimes experience loneliness.
WE SEARCH FOR GOD’S MERCY IN
LONELINESS
My Psalm 216
Almighty Father, Provider of all good things,
We praise Your Name and worship at Your throne.
You give us all we need in this life,
And that plentifully.
You grant us food, clothing, purpose, and joy
When we live according to Your…..
Today I bid earthly goodbye to a dear friend, Emily Pippin, who will be relocating to Charlotte tomorrow. I know I will see her in heaven, but saying goodbye in this life is difficult.
Emily and her recently graduated to heaven husband, Leon, have been writing friends, confidantes, and fellow church members. Emily has proofread, meticulously, my books, and she and I can and have discussed many things in the years we’ve been together here in Florida. I agonized with…..
Announcing my newest book, a sort of Hallmark movie kind of book. I can dream, can’t I of seeing it on film on TV?

Writing the “Think about it” section of my latest devotional guide. If your life seems fraught with confusion, may this be a blessing to you today: There is much confusion in the Bible, since God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are higher than our ways. He can see into the future; we cannot. He created order; we create chaos. He knows the ramifications of sin; we in our pride think we’re immune, somehow. Oh, that we truly understood…..
On this Lord’s Day, if you find yourself living a life of confusion, of discovering that distractions are attractions, why not come with me to worship the God of the universe, who does all things well? Covenant Church in Palm Bay is a great place to find answers and direction. 720 Emerson Drive. 10:30. Meanwhile, I think “My Psalm 213″”” might give us all some perspective. The sermon series is Ecclesiastes, where we’re discovering meaning. My Psalm 213 Almighty God,…..
Writing the chapter on conflict today for Life-Changing Water book. Since the entry of sin into the lives of Adam and Eve in Genesis, conflict in our world exists: man against God, man against man, injustice of every kind, and a host of negatives from greed, to murder, to prejudice, to misunderstandings, to outright rebellion. May the words of this hymn teach us that someday, it will be different: (Hail to the Lord’s Anointed, by James Montgomery and T. Tertius…..
Covenant Church gathered together last evening for our Coming Together event uniting the Beachside and Palm Bay campuses. It was a time of food, fellowship, worship, sharing, and testimonies. May we continue to praise our Sovereign Lord in this new day. Here is a portion of “My Psalm 201.” In particular, we bless the many in our congregation who are grieving several deaths in our body in the last few months. May we continue to praise through our tears.

When storms of life come, and they indeed do, think about the things I’ve mentioned today in the Think About It section on trials and suffering. May it bless you today: For the purpose of this study, we are using storms and trials both literally and symbolically. Literally, Jesus controls the waves and storms and brings calm. Figuratively, any trials which come into our lives are anything but calm! However, since Christ is our source of peace, and the Father…..
