Some call Him Lord. Some call Him Savior. Some call Him The Christ. Some dare to call Him Friend. Today’s Chrismon (crismon) ornament was a symbol early in the church. It looks like a double X. It, too, is from Greek.
“In the original Greek text, “Jesus Christ” is written IHSOUS XRISTOS. From earliest times these two letters have been combined into a beautiful symbol representing the Christian’s faith that Jesus is “the Christ [Messiah], the Son of the Living God”. (Matthew 16:16)

PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
What more beautiful name could there be than Messiah, and Your Son? We are so thankful that You want a relationship with us, and that You want to restore that relationship which Adam and Eve had with You before sin entered their lives and ours.
We thank You for redemption. We thank You that we can be redeemed by Jesus’ sacrifice, and are eternally thankful. Help us to remember our thanks to You by practicing thanksliving in all we do, praising Your name continually, and telling others about Your magnificent Gift in Jesus. Amen.
