LEAN INTO LENT DAY 39 Maundy Thursday
(Psalm 104:35-36) I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be pleasing to Him, for I rejoice in the Lord. Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bles the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord.
Those of us who know the Lord and worship Him love to praise Him for all He means to us. But do we think about those opposed to Him? How much do we think about missions and evangelism? Should we be in torment for those who do not worship the King of Kings and Lord or Lords? We are commissioned to go into ALL the world and preach and baptize. During this Lent period, let us renew our enthusiasm for telling the world what we know, and praying for the salvation rather than the loss of others whom we may have influenced.
PRAYER: Eternal Father, Lord of Lords, I bless Your Name and thank you for the gift of my salvation. I pray for those who do not yet worship you and bless You for loving me enough to save me from my sins. Walk with me on a daily basis. Give me the courage to approach other who need the abundant life You share with me. Let me commune with You in the Last Supper, and frequently do that in remembrance of the price You paid for my salvation. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
from my book Restore My Soul Psalms: A Lenten Journey, My Psalm 320 Chaos
MY PSALM 320 CHAOS
Blessed Father, Creator of every good and perfect gift,
I praise Your Name and bow to Your majesty,
Humbly acknowledging that without Your strength,
I can do nothing.
Without Your guidance, I wander aimlessly
Like water creating its own channel, meandering.
Like the original chaos,
I could live as one with no focus, no path, no purpose.
Like the original chaos,
I could face eternity having never lived an abundant life.
But in Your grace, mercy, and love
You fashioned Your world in magnificence,
And before the world began, You knew me
And chose me to be Yours.
Thank You for redeeming me from chaos.
Guide my life that I may always understand
My rich privilege to know You through Your creation,
And all Your means of grace.
Keep me mindful of Your blessings, Sovereign Lord. Amen.
