This day, Lord, I praise you for overcoming

The things of this  sin-filled world—

The culture which says we can worship the occult,

The trappings of Halloween,

The celebration of death and all things spooky,

The witches, goblins, ghosts, and demons

Which mankind conjures in his depraved mind.

Imagination’s child, the costumes, the colors of harvest

Used to make pumpkins into jack o’lanterns

With scary, depraved caricatures

Of your greatest creation, mankind.
