3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.”

And, what will the last days be like? Sounds to many of us Christians, that we are living in those days now, although even Jesus, says the scriptures, does not know when this time will be. But, this is what the Bible teachers, so take it to heart, because this is God’s words, not mine:  Matthew 24:6-14

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of birth pains.
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
This very week we have seen several of these fulfilled. Yes, one can argue that Roman times were bad, that the Holocaust was an awful time, that totalitarian governments deny people’s rights and freedom of worship, but in our age, we hear about these things hourly. There is much good in this world, but abominations make headlines. Only the latest, alliances made between China and Russia, brutal war in Ukraine, killing of innocents through drugs produced to kill them, killing of children by a transgender woman, migration of people dissatisfied with their lives, and breaking our nation’s laws, earthquakes in Colombia and Syria, and Turkey, leaders who lie to us, climate change (whether real or imagined) Marxism disguised as public policy, COVID, food insecurity, and courts and policing operating with impunity, sexual perversion, and chaos.
Christians say, “Maranatha, come quickly, Lord Jesus.” If you are chastened to learn more, I suggest your reading the book of John in the New Testament of the Bible during next week, designated by Christians as Holy Week, and that on Easter morning, you worship the Risen Christ, the Savior of the World, God’s own Son. It’s not about the bunny, it’s about the Lamb of God who atoned for our sin, once and for all. Talk to a Christian, but be prepared to suffer for your faith in this sin-filled world where man think he or she is king.
